Wellington has so much to offer you. Being the capital city of New Zealand it is a very busy place both with sports events, culture, art, great shopping, wonderful dining and cafes, politics and day to day living of it’s diverse population.

Te Papa Tongarewa – Museum of New Zealand

Te Papa is New Zealand’s bold and innovative national museum and a recognised world leader in interactive and visitor-focused museum experiences.

The Dowse Art Museum is a connected art place that explores meaningful new ideas and initiatives for our many communities.

Just a 5 minute drive from Wellington Top 10, The Dowse is a nationally significant contemporary art museum as well as the public art gallery for Lower Hutt city. Opening in 1971 The Dowse forged a reputation for presenting quality exhibitions and events with a special focus on craft and design.

Junglerama & Hutt Indoor Sports

Junglerama Playland and Hutt Indoor Sports is right next door to the Wellington Top 10 Holiday Park! It has a great café for parents to kick back and relax in whilst the kids enjoy the range of playing areas.

Junglerama has a large multi-level climbing structure, inflatable slide and much more whilst Hutt Indoor Sports has indoor cricket, netball, basketball and hosts a range of events.

With a wide range of sporting venues Wellington plays host to events all year round. From world class rugby, rugby sevens, cricket, multisport, swimming, hockey, cycling you name it, if it’s played in New Zealand Wellington will host it!

Parliament

A visit to the Capital City would not be complete without a visit to NZ’s beautifully refurbished Parliament Buildings.

Located in the historic suburb of Thorndon, the complex is made up of three architecturally distinctive buildings: the Edwardian neo-classical Parliament House, the Victorian Gothic Parliamentary Library and the unique 1970’s style Beehive building.

Archives New Zealand & Treaty of Waitangi

Archives New Zealand is the country’s largest repository of original information on New Zealand’s history and development.

The original Treaty of Waitangi and the 1893 Women’s Suffrage Petition are among the important documents on permanent display in the Constitution Room. Other galleries have changing exhibitions on a variety of historical and cultural topics.
